Tara is a psychologist dedicated in the field of mental health trauma with a personal and professional passion for trauma recovery and emotional wellbeing. In her own life, she has overcome multiple traumas, leading to her diagnosis of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD). Through her journey to find effective mental health support, Tara experienced first-hand the frustration of being passed between services without receiving the right help. This inspired her mission to ensure others can access compassionate, practical, and effective support for their mental health.
Motivated by her lived experience, Tara is pursuing a PhD focused on army veterans with C-PTSD, exploring their experiences of transition and mental health support after discharge from military service. She has also trained in Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) — a transformative form of trauma therapy that helps people process distressing memories and emotions quickly and effectively, without the need for endless retelling or lengthy sessions.
In addition to her academic and therapeutic expertise, Tara has extensive voluntary experience supporting individuals facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, addiction, C-PTSD, PTSD, and stress. Her holistic, empathetic, and evidence-based approach empowers people to heal from trauma and improve their overall mental wellbeing.
